Ten years.
If you’ve been on the internet for more than five minutes, you know a decade is basically an eternity. In internet years, J.D. Scribes is roughly the age of a giant redwood tree or a very wise, slightly tired tortoise.
I’m Jessica, and I’ve spent the last 3,650-ish days building a business around words, strategy, and helping you not look like a bot on the timeline. It hasn’t always been pretty. There were moments in the early days where I was definitely overthinking my font choices and internally screaming about algorithm updates. But here we are. Ten years in, and I’m still the same awkward black girl who loves a good system and a perfectly placed comma.
To celebrate (and to keep this practical), we’re doing something a little different: Scribe & Sell: a Monetization Sprint.
Because a lot of entrepreneurs don’t have a content problem. You have a Monetization Gap—your content has heart, your brand has a mission, your message is solid… but the execution doesn’t consistently lead people to buy.
For our April Kickoff, we’re pulling back the curtain on what it actually takes to turn attention into revenue—without turning into a full-time trend-chaser. We’re moving away from the “guru” coaching vibes (because honestly, who has the energy?) and leaning into what we do best: execution.
Think of us as your Content Concierge. You bring the vision; we bring the plan, the polish, and the follow-through that gets results.
The Evolution of the Hustle
When I first started J.D. Scribes, the landscape was different. Twitter was simpler, Instagram didn’t have Reels, and “content creator” wasn’t a job title people took seriously at Thanksgiving dinner.
I’ve watched platforms rise and fall. I’ve seen the “next big thing” become a ghost town in six months. Through all of that, the businesses that survived weren’t the ones chasing every single trend. They were the ones who focused on authority and consistency.
Back when we celebrated our 2nd birthday, the focus was just on surviving the startup phase. Now, the focus is on scaling with intention. For-profit businesses and creatives don’t just need “help” anymore. They need partners who can take the heavy lifting off their plates. They need a team that understands content marketing and knows how to turn a random idea into a lead-generating machine.
Why Authority is a Vibe (Not a Checklist)
Week 1 is about Authority.
Usually, when people talk about authority, they mean “post a photo of yourself in a suit looking serious.” That’s not it. In the J.D. Scribes universe, authority is about staying power. It’s the vibe that says, “I know what I’m doing, I’ve been doing it for a long time, and I’m not going anywhere.”
We’ve built that authority by being the “quiet experts” in the room. I was even recognized as one of the influential women in Northeast Mississippi, which was lovely and also a little bit overwhelming for someone who prefers to be behind the keyboard.
But here’s the thing: you can’t build authority if you’re constantly burnt out from trying to figure out which social media platforms you should be on. You can’t lead your industry if you’re spending four hours a day trying to write a single caption.
That’s where the Content Concierge model comes in.
The Content Concierge: Less Thinking, More Doing
For a long time, the trend in the service industry was coaching. Everyone wanted to sell you a “how-to” guide and then leave you to do the work yourself.
We’re moving in the opposite direction.
We want to handle the Social Media Management for you. We want to be the ones who manage the hooks, scheduling, engagement, and strategy while you focus on running your business. It’s a partnership where we handle the execution so you can handle the impact.
But I also know that not everyone is ready for a full-service management retainer. Some of you are in the DIY phase, and that’s perfectly fine. But even if you’re doing it yourself, you shouldn’t be winging it.
That’s why we created the Content Concierge Toolkit. It’s ten years of expertise distilled into a roadmap that doesn’t cost a fortune. It includes:
- 50 high-authority content prompts (no fluff allowed).
- A 12-month content roadmap.
- The peace of mind that comes with knowing what you’re posting three months from now.
It’s the entry point to the J.D. Scribes way of doing things, organized, intentional, and slightly witty.
What to Expect in the Coming Weeks
This April Weekly Deep Dives series isn’t just a trip down memory lane. It’s a masterclass in modern content execution. We’re going to cover:
- How to build systems that actually save your sanity.
- Why “replies” are more important than “likes” (and how to get them).
- The art of the “scroll-stopping” hook.
- How to use our 12-month roadmap to put your brand on autopilot.
The core principles remain the same, but the execution has to be sharper.
Longevity is the New Luxury
In a world of “viral” moments that last fifteen minutes, longevity is the ultimate flex.
Building J.D. Scribes over the last decade has taught me that the “secret sauce” isn’t a secret at all. It’s just showing up, being helpful, and having a system in place so you don’t lose your mind when things get busy.
Whether you need us to take over your social media entirely or you just need the toolkit to get your own planning in order, we’re here to make sure your brand has that same staying power. We’ve done the trial and error, so you don’t have to.
Week 1 Takeaway: Find the Monetization Gap
Before we dive into the deep end of strategy tomorrow, I want you to look at your current content situation.
Are you posting because you have something to say, or are you posting because you’re moving people toward a decision?
Most of the time, the gap isn’t effort. It’s execution:
- You’re sharing value, but not giving the next step.
- You’re building connection, but not building conversion.
- You’re getting likes, but not getting paid.
You can have the best mission and the most genuine story in the world—and still not see results if your content doesn’t ask for anything. Authority is nice. Revenue is nicer.
That’s where our Content Concierge Toolkit comes in. It’s the quickest way to close the gap without overhauling your whole life—prompts, a 12-month roadmap, and structure that makes selling feel like a natural next step (not a weird personality shift).
You can check out our full range of Social Media Management services if you’re ready to hand over the keys. Or, if you want to keep the keys but need a better map, the Content Concierge Toolkit is waiting for you.
Ten years ago, J.D. Scribes was just a dream and a lot of caffeine. Today, it’s a powerhouse for for-profit businesses who are tired of the noise.
Thanks for being part of the journey. Let’s make the next ten even better.
Scribe Challenge (Week 1): Audit your last 5 posts—did they ask for a sale or just a like?
Stick around for Week 2, where we’re talking about why Value is the Only Currency that actually matters in SMM.
